We met back in 2010 at Felix Festa Middle School, long before either of us had a driver’s license, a skincare routine, or any idea we’d end up here. We both went to Clarkstown North and spent years moving in the same circles without ever dating. Turns out, all we needed was a little time… and a pandemic to finally figure it out.
Fast forward to 2020: the world shut down, and so did any desire to stay put. Meghan moved back from Connecticut, and Jack (still holding onto his city lease) headed home to New City to escape the madness. Suddenly, we were both back in Rockland. Reconnecting, catching up, and casually pretending we weren’t about to go on a date. A few texts later, and some encouragement from our friends, we did. The slowest long game in history paid off.
Our first official date was at an Italian restaurant. Meghan said yes even though Italian isn’t exactly her thing (true love or polite panic, who’s to say?). But our unofficial first date was way back in 2015, when Jack tagged along to a Fall Out Boy concert thanks to an extra ticket Meghan had. We’re not saying that’s when the spark started, but it definitely didn’t hurt.
These days, we live in Hoboken with our cat, Charley, she runs the apartment and lets us live there. We spend our time wandering farmers markets, catching live shows, trying new restaurants, watching SNL, and hosting dinner and game nights with friends.
On October 5, 2024, Jack proposed at Fort Lee Historic Park. The setup? A suspiciously dramatic flat tire, a scenic overlook, and a not-so-subtle plan. Meghan caught on fast but played along like a pro, though she did keep asking if she should call the restaurant to say we’d be late. Plot twist: there was no reservation. Just a ring.
We’re so excited to finally celebrate with everyone who’s been part of this story, whether since middle school or just recently. Thanks for being here. Let’s party.
